One of India’s largest metro stations getting ready

Hyderabad: Nearly 1,200 people are working round-the-clock to get the Ameerpet interchange station, one of the largest metro stations in the country, ready for operations.

Spread over two lakh square feet, the significance of Ameerpet interchange station is that it facilitates effortless interchange of commuters across both corridors (Corridor 1-Miyapur to LB Nagar at the higher level, Corridor 3-Nagole to Shilparamam at the lower level).

Passengers wanting to travel beyond Ameerpet from Miyapur will have to alight at the interchange station and board another train heading towards Nagole. Every day, nearly 40,000 passengers are expected to use the station, which is equipped with open spaces, lifts, escalators and staircases. It can accommodate a minimum of 6,000 passengers at any point of time.
