Know how to sport the right skirt for winter

With the temperature dropping, if you are looking for fashionable options to greet winter in style, skirts are a great choice. They will keep you warm and elegant. Here are a few tips while picking the skirts.

Long skirts

Winter is the time to pull out the long skirts that have been resting in your wardrobe for some time now, owing to summer and the monsoon that followed. While you can bet on long skirts keeping you warm, they also look super trendy. However, make sure you do not pick a skirt that is too long that you have to drag it along and get it dirty. Ankle length would be ideal, while anywhere beneath the knee is also absolutely okay.

Warm fabric

The kind of fabric you choose plays an important role in keeping you cosy and comfy. Fabrics like wool, denim, suede and velvet are ideal choices. That way, even if you choose to wear a short skirt, you wouldn’t have to worry about getting cold.

This might sound a little tricky but is a very effective way to ensure you stay warm. You can layer shorter and thicker skirts which have fewer pleats with a longer, more flowy skirt. See to it that you don’t look bulky though.

Short skirts & boots

Now, if you can’t resist those sexy short skirts you bought, worry not! Pairing it with the right accessories can fix the trouble. And when it’s winter, what’s a better accessory than a pair of boots? While for shorter skirts you can sport knee-length boots, for longer skirts, you can go for ankle-length boots.

Leggings or stockings

Yet another stylish way to ensure you stay warm is to wear leggings or stockings beneath your skirt. Cotton and polyester are common and popular options. While it is safe to pick the neutral colours like black or brown, you can also experiment with bolder colours and quirkier patterns.
